The South Aegean Coast Guard 40th Anniversary Sailing Cup, organized by Bodrum Offshore Sailing Club within the framework of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Coast Guard Command, was completed with the participation of 25 teams and 140 athletes.

The South Aegean Coast Guard 40th Anniversary Sailing Cup, organized by BAYK on June 18 and hosted by Milta Bodrum Marina and Marina Yacht Club Bodrum, was completed as open to IRC, Support and Tırhandil classes. In the race, which also included the rally class, no license requirement was specifically required for this class. In the race, for which there is no registration fee, the fleet was divided into IRC A-B, Destek A-B and Tırhandil groups. A Farr 40 boat named Cinali Magic from Istanbul joined the IRC A group in the fleet. Vega, a 1931 Swedish-made classic boat whose restoration was completed last year, participated in the support group.

The teams competing on the geographical route completed the planned single race with a pleasant wind blowing at an average speed of 15 knots. Bodrum District Governor Bilgehan Bayar started the races, followed from the sea by South Aegean Coast Guard Group Commander Lieutenant Colonel Süleyman Ercan and Bodrum Coast Guard Station Commander Major Utku Meral. While the fleet started off the coast of Görecek Island according to the route, it left Çelebi Island on the pier, returned to Bodrum and finished by leaving the return buoy off the Tavşan Burnu of the Karaada Strait on the starboard. After the race with a distance of 14 nautical miles, the cocktail and cup ceremony was completed with enthusiasm at Marina Yacht Club Bodrum in the evening. While celebrating the 40th anniversary of the South Aegean Coast Guard Command, the friendship and cooperation between the Coast Guard, the greatest security of the seas, and yachtsmen were strengthened.
